Ecology of Moraine and Cold desserts

The gradient of Himalayan ranges is found to harbor microbial diversity which drives nutrients cycling under the low temperature conditions. Deciphering the adaptive strategies developed by microbes holds a great promise for its biological implications. Our group is interested in elucidating the microbial diversity using culture-omics approach and aim to characterize these microbes using molecular and chemotaxonomic approaches. Resultant functional diversity encompassing the metabolic reactions of microbial component will provide an insight towards the various biochemical mechanisms associated to the ecosystem.
